The Laundry Ordeal

So yesterday was my first attempt at doing my own laundry here at school and it was quite an experience! My mom told me that it would be best if I washed my clothes in cold water because I wasn't going to seperate the colors(I didn't have enough for two loads)the only problem is that on our machines the temperature is not posted so I had no idea which button to push, so after about 20 minutes I finally figured it out and the laundry was in. Then I went to my first gym class and as soon as I came back to my room and cryed to my mom I decided to drop the class-no more muscles for me! Then after realizing I had to be at work in ten minutes I went and moved my clothes from the washer to the dryer-running back to my room because I forgot the fabric softener sheets-and then making it to work with only a minute to spare! After work, dinner and a very trying shopping trip(long story for another time), my day settled down and I was able to fold my clothes and get my life organized. Yeah for personal planners!!!!!!!

Still Alive

I am still here-although sometimes I wish I wasn't! Today was my first day of classes and I think I will really enjoy them once my mind stops telling me that I wasn't called to go to college and I am ready to go home! Then I remind myself that God wants me here and every thing becomes okay-then the process starts all over again! Hopefully a routine will help!

P.S. Bentley is doing fine- he had surgery and they found a corn cob! He is now recovering and should come home shortly-praise the Lord!

Bentley and Me

So this week is my family's annual end-of-the-summer camping trip and I think this is the most interesting one we have ever taken. Yesterday started out normal enough with a bunch of running around trying to get everything ready-nobody really noticed that Bentley was showing signs that he wasn't feeling to well. So an hour and a half later than we wanted to leave we left and not 15 minutes later we were back at home cleaning the dog and his kennel because the curves were to much for him. After a good hour of cleaning we hit the road again-and everyone was fine- right up till Bentley threw up again in Woodburn. So after some more cleaning we got back on the road only this time it was back home- to Lebanon Animal Hospital. Once there, we waited an hour for the vet to arrive and then another 45 minutes for the vet to figure out what to do-they decided to keep him overnight. So finally we left for Astoria and 3 and a half hours later we made it- 6 hours late! I had a great time sitting in front of the camp fire and goofing off with Andrew. Then we went in to play a game of Rook- that is when I started to get really hot and my stomach started to hurt and we didn't play two hands before I ran out and let it all loose in the bushes. It was miserable! I have decided that throwing up is the second worst thing in the world, the first being torture(of any kind)! That was my interesting day yesterday, today Bentley is not doing any better and will most likely have to go into surgery because something is stuck inside him. Oh and thats not all today we came back home to go to a memorial service and tomorrow we go back to Astoria to finish our camping experience-what a vacation!

for all to enjoy

I've found it-a movie that is excedingly good for everyone. It's called Stealth and it is still in theaters. It has action, adventure and just enough romance so that the people who need that part are able to enjoy it. Although I have to admit that some may not like it-like the person I saw it with-because it is set in the future and some things that happen are a little unbelieveable-but isn't that true for all movies these days. I walked out of the Theater and I wanted to see it again and when that happens I know that it was a good one. So call up a friend, smuggle in some candy and enjoy the show.

The Fantastic Four

So the goodbyes have started. Although I might see Annabecca before Christmas, the four of us won't be together till then and that is just depressing. Then last night was the going away party for 4 other people-tear! I am looking forward to going to the beach with Geron, so I am looking to the future instead of living in the past!

If Only

If only life were as simple as it was for seven brothers when they went out to capture their seven brides. They knew exactly what they wanted and, after a motivating pep talk from thier brother Adam, they went and got it. I have come to the conclusion that when life is not as simple as that, which it usually never is, the best option is to go to the park with a friend, swing, and then go watch old musicals-like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. These three things-together or apart-always seem to make life better.

How to make Spaghetti for 150 people

well, my summer job is offically over but the relaxation that I had hoped would come with it is yet to be found. Today I worked Ten and a half hours in the Kitchen here at camp-and let me tell ya-It is no small task. And there is no end in site. But I am greatful to have a few more weeks left with my friends and family before I head off to college- freak out!!!! The group that is here this week is Slavic and it is really fun to hear them talk and watch them interact with each other-its a whole different way of life. So now I am going to take my two hours before bed and get a little bit of that long awaited relaxation in!!

Changes

A new super walmart, a new time to start work, a new age (almost), and a whole new chapter of my life is starting-I'm freaking out!!! I don't like change! Everybody always says change is a good thing, but I am not so sure. I am a firm believer that if you have something wonderful you should hold onto it for all your worth. My two best friends are leaving for colleges like two zillion miles away on august 17 and 18 and they are leaving me here to "hold down the fort", whatever that is supposed to mean. They are the best friends anyone could every ask for and I don't want that to ever change. So to sum up what I want to say-I don't want anything to change! but I know it has to, so I am determined to enjoy the time I have with them until I am no longer able, and I know that we will be friends forever no matter which direction the winds of change blow us!

Nora

Of course the names here have been changed to protect the innocent...
Nora is amazing. She is beautiful, talented, smart, fun, courageous, almost completely perfect. (Of course there are times when she drives you completely nuts, but that is what makes her so special.) She makes everything in life better. She is the kind of friend you read about on a greeting card-yep that good! I pray that everyone in the whole world will find a friend to call their Nora-then everyone will be blessed! I love you, Nora!

Friday night at the movies

I have to admit that I had my doubts about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory before my three very good friends and I went and saw it last night, but it exceded my expectations. Although extremely wierd(to be expected when you see a Tim Burton Film)it was a relatively entertaining movie. The best part was when the entire audience gasped when Charlie found the ticket-like it was totally unexpected. Johnny Depp did a good job as Willy Wonka-completely freaky yet in a strange way, very likable. All in all, it was not a waste of my time or money, but as with all movies , I encourage people to see it with friends-they make everything better. You guys are the best!

Exclamation

A very important question was brought to my attention today and I feel the need to share my thoughts. Is it an exclamation point or mark? In my expert opinion it is exclamation point but then again, I had to ask my mom how to spell exclamation point so my expert opinion might not be as expert as I would like to think. However, after consulting many reliable people I have come to the conclusion that I am correct. There are punctuation marks and exclamation points which happens to be a punctuation mark. So now you can all consider yourselves more knowledgable on this topic then you ever thought you would be. Have a wonderful day!
